Our Story...

J Bar D Studios, Inc. is a family business born from a recognized need in the horse industry and our interest in photography. In the 1970's and early 1980's we had a successful breeding program. Building on some of the best-known bloodlines in the business, we bred outstanding all-around performance horses--horses that would win national championships in all disciplines of competition.

Along the way, we found that good equine photographers were hard to find and started taking our own photos for both our albums and marketing purposes. As time went on, we learned that other breeders and competitors also had a difficult time finding good horse photographers. Claire had long been a hobby photographer with her own black and white photo processing lab and photographed local horse shows from time-to-time. As we decided to simply enjoy riding our horses and showing occassionally instead of breeding and maintaining our own program, we saw the opportunity to serve people in the industry by providing what was needed--excellence in equine photography.

Over the years as we have seen the horse industry develop and change, we've also seen an increasing need for marketing plans and strategy in order for owners to fill their bookings and sell their horses. As a result, we have drawn on our experience in the industry and educational background in strategic image development to be your Total Horse Marketing Solution. What makes us. so effective and able to meet our clients' needs are the skills and background that each of the members of our family bring to J Bar D Studios, Inc.
